LASH EXTENSION AFTERCARE

Together, we become your personal lash team.

I will make sure to do my part (a proper lash extension application), but I need you to give them all the TLC you can! By following the guidelines below, your lashes will last longer, look better, and maintain the best health! (The healthier your lashes are, the better your extensions will look). P.s, if they are not taken care of properly, it will show. But don’t you worry, I am here to guide you you every step of the way!

So you just left SG Beauty with your fresh set & aftercare bag. You’re feeling well rested, and more beautiful than ever -

For the first 24 hours:

ONLY for the first 24 Hours: Do not get your lashes wet (or expose them to steam). I would suggest not applying makeup, if you can! Try to sleep on your back & avoid squishing your lashes.

The golden rule:

WASH YOUR LASHES

Natural oils, debris, old skin, will get trapped in your lash line and affect your retention! You will read about this thoroughly in my policies.

Using the extension safe foam cleanser and soft lash brush provided, you will use circular & back and forth motions along the lash line and entire eye area. Rinse well. I always suggest doing this process in the shower, or sticking your face under running water to ensure there is no residue left over. If you wore makeup that day, I suggest more than one round of washing! Pat lashes dry with a soft towel (one that won’t get caught on your lashes & snag ‘em). Gently brush the lashes to guide them back to where they belong & brush again after they dry, to fluff them up! I will go over this with you again & again, until you get it juuuuust right :)

SWEAT

The salt in our sweat can affect the lash adhesive, just like oils do! During the summer months, your morning run, or after jumping in the ocean, your lashes will be exposed to more salt than usual. & That’s okay! If you’re unable to wash them per usual, a quick rinse on your lashes will help longevity of your lash set! Fresh water, lash wash or even saline solution can help take off a little of the salt while you enjoy the rest of day soaking up the sun.

BRUSH

Brushing your lashes a couple times daily, can be one of the easiest ways to make sure your lashes stay their best & stimulate new lash growth. Stick to 2-3x a day tops! You can brush too much believe it or not.

WHAT TO AVOID:

OILs -

As mentioned above, oils break the adhesive bond between your eyelash extension & natural lash. So, when the glue bond becomes weak, pop goes a lash! Do everything you can to keep your lashes free from oils: oil free is the way to be when it comes to your favorite beauty products! It’s good to build the habit of not touching your lashes.

mascara, makeup, setting sprays and hairsprays -

Never apply mascara. One swipe of that wand and poof!! Just like that, your volume fans are ruined! Setting sprays & hairsprays can be tacky - cover your lashes lightly with a makeup brush or finger. (Who knew tanning bed eye googles could be repurposed!?) No eyelash curlers. No strip lashes.

Spray tans?

Wait at least 24 hours before and after your lash application. If you spray tan the day of your lash appointment, you will be left with some funky patches on your face! (Eye-pads, tape, etc).

HUMIDITy, saunas, HOT HOT HEAT + wahh, tears!

I know you' can’t control the humidity, but you can choose not to go in a sauna! Just keep this in mind if you’re taking a trip to a tropical island - Be aware you may have to come back a little bit sooner for a fill! Be extra cautious around heat: fires, ovens, & blow dryers! Lashes can & will melt if you get too close! Melted lashes = Removal and New set! Lastly, if you’re unfortunately producing eyeball rain drops - there’s a good chance you will see your lashes coming off quicker.

SLEEPING HABITS

Pleaseeeee try not to sleep on your face! Let's keep the lash to pillow friction ratio as low as we possibly can! I will most likely be able to tell which eye you sleep on during your fills :) A satin pillowcase can help, and they do make lash extension sleeping eye-masks. Let me know if you’re interested, I can order one for you :)

DO NOT PICK or PULL

With or without extensions, this will cause the most damage and can result in poor growth of your natural lashes! If you feel the need to do so because your lash extensions are causing discomfort, please let me know immediately.

SCHEDULING FILLS

Frequent fills are important to your lash growth and lash health! I know your lashes could still look amazing around 3 weeks, but as soon as the lash extension(s) start to grow out, it will put weight on the natural lash, where there wouldn’t naturally be! This is when you might start to notice a lash or two twist (causing discomfort or bugging you).

Lash fills are different for everyone because lash cycles vary (more info on my FAQs page & Lash Extension Policies). We will work together to decide when the best time for you to reschedule your fills will be. Typically, most clients come back every 2 weeks. To maintain full lashes, it's best to come with 1/2 your lashes still on. This will give you that fresh full set look EVERY fill.
