WHAT ARE EYELASH EXTENSIONS?

Eyelash extensions have become very popular over the last few years. They are similar to hair extensions: They are used to increase length, thickness, or both, by attaching synthetic hair onto your natural hair. Highly skilled lash artists, like myself, are trained in using different thicknesses, curls and lengths to shape your eye and face! With a fuller look, ‘Volume,’ multiple lashes are placed on each single natural lash, and for a more natural look, one extension is placed onto one natural lash, ‘Classic.’ Volume lashes are usually handmade fans of 2+ very thin extensions that are applied to 1 natural lash. This is why it is so time consuming! (There are lash artist who use ‘premade’ fans, to cut down on time, and do not require as much skill).

HOW IS IT DONE?

Starting with squeaky clean skin and lash line, I will gently tape down your bottom lashes (so they can stay safely out of the way, while protecting your skin/under eye area). Then, carefully separating each individual natural lash, I place a thin extension on your natural lash with a medical-grade lash adhesive, which typically dries in a second!

how LONG WILL EYELASH EXTENSIONS LAST?

Overall, lash extensions should stay adhered to your natural lash until it sheds off. A typical shedding cycle is 8-9 weeks (shedding 1-3 lashes daily). However, there are several factors that affect the longevity of lash extensions. Such as, how well you follow aftercare instructions, the length of your natural eyelash growth cycle, your skin type, makeup routine, hormone imbalances, medication, stress, seasonal weather and more.

WILL MY NATURAL LASHES FALL OUT?

The natural cycle of an natural eyelash is 90 days. As your natural lashes shed, new lashes grow in their place. Lash shedding is a completely natural process. During heavy shedding cycles, the average person can shed 2-5 lashes a day per eye.

ARE EYELASH EXTENSIONS SAFE? DO they hurt?

Eyelash extensions are completely safe when applied properly by a trained professional. There is no pain involved during the application process or with daily wear of lash extensions. They are virtually weightless, soft, and flexible. It is for your benefit to know whether or not a lash stylist is licensed and properly trained. *Do your research and ask questions! Check for clear, bright, open eyed photos of their work! Lastly, ask around!

Will eyelash extensions damage my natural lashes? 

When lash extensions are applied correctly, they are completely safe and damage free. Essentially, your natural lashes are going to grow and shed as if there isn’t anything on them. That is why proper application is so important! Unfortunately, with the growing popularity of this trend, I see lash artists use improper weight of lashes, incorrect isolation, and are uneducated about aftercare. My main goal is to design a set customized to your face, while keeping your natural lashes in tiptop shape! If you are concerned about damage to your natural lashes, keep your expectations realistic! Lashes are used to ENHANCE what we naturally have.

How do I prepare myself before the service?

I will ask that you come properly prepared for your appointments. This allows you to get the most out of your appointment & investment! I included what is required in my policies/waiver. You will read before booking!

How do I care for my eyelash extensions? 

HOW LONG WILL THE EYELASH EXTENSION SERVICE TAKE?

Full sets take anywhere from 2-4 hours and fills 2-3 hours depending on the service. 

Can I wear eye makeup with lash extensions? mascara?

I recommend using little to no makeup on the eye area to prolong those beautiful lashes! Clean lashes, Happy lashes! Makeup products, such as mascara and eyeliner are NEVER recommended. When removing makeup on extensions, always use an oil free makeup remover. DO NOT use a makeup wipe on your lash line. The wipe will get stuck on the lashes & could yank extensions out! One of the many great benefits of lash extensions is the thicker, darker lash line. When most of my clients see themselves with lashes, they feel silly for even asking about mascara!

ARE EYELASH EXTENSIONS RIGHT FOR ME?

Lashes are perfect for just about everyone and can be personalized to anyones unique beauty! However, below are some conditions to take into consideration before booking!

Lashes may not be the right fit for you, IF YOU/YOUR:

Cannot lay on your back, lying still, for an extended period of time (anywhere from 1.5-4 hours).

You are unable follow instructions for appointments or maintain the aftercare guidelines.

If you rub your eyes frequently.

Natural eyelashes are very curly. (Curly lashes tend to shorten the wear time of lash extensions. You may be better off getting a keratin lash lift, as a corrective service!)

Do not have natural lashes. Extensions are placed on the natural eyelash.
